A bit about me

Hello, thank you so much for visiting my site! My name is Karina Middleton. I grew up in West Sussex, have lived for various parts of my life in Newcastle, London, France, Spain and New Zealand, and now I am putting down roots in Somerset. I have been practicing yoga since 2010, teaching it since 2015, and became a mumma in 2019 and then had a second little human in 2022.  Since becoming a mum, I've decided to scale back my teaching and teach only a few classes a week.

I love teaching yoga and mindfulness, and seeing the positive impact it has on my students' lives. I believe that everyone could do with a little bit of yoga in their lives, and I'm grateful to my students for allowing me to bring it to them.

​

I have a deep love of India; the magical birth country of yoga. I often bring elements of Indian culture, religion and philosophy into my classes to share with my students. 

My classes

​

I teach well planned, light-hearted classes and always teach to the room, offering demonstrations, hands on assists and modifications where appropriate.

 

I teach both slow and gentle and fast flowing classes for adults.

I enjoy leading fun classes for children that involve story telling.

In my mum and baby classes things are a little bit different; we sing songs, use shiny props and put on a bit of a show for our babies while we flow around our mats, and we do some gentle yoga stretches with the babies too.

Free yoga classes

As well as teaching paid-for classes, I teach free classes to a select few organisations and settings. I believe yoga is something that everyone in the world should benefit from, and I therefore donate some of my time freely to share the joy of yoga with those who otherwise would not be able to experience it. My certifications

​

I am a 500 hour certified teacher in vinyasa flow and hatha yoga. I completed my initial 200 hour training in vinyasa flow with Yoga London in 2015, and then had the wonderful experience of completing my intensive 300 hour training in ashtanga vinyasa and hatha with the World Peace Yoga School in Rishikesh, India in 2017. 

I completed my 85 hour pregnancy, post-natal and mum & baby teacher training with the amazing Sally Parkes in 2019.
